As you fight in the Main mode, you earn money for every time you defeat someone. The fighting is the same as always and for the first time, Namco has introduced a new feature in which you can customize your characters. It also includes ports of the original arcade versions of Tekken, Tekken 2, and Tekken 3, as well as an unlockable port of the arcade version of the 1991 space shooter StarBlade. It also includes a new minigame: Devil Within (a spiritual successor to the "Tekken Force" beat-'em-up mode, this time with only Jin Kazama as the playable character). The game was later released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005 (February 24 in North America, March 31 in Japan, and June 24 in Europe), revamping the character unlock system and including a virtual version of the Data Card system (with customization options intact). The story is set a month after the events of Tekken 4 (where Jin Kazama defeats both Kazuya Mishima and Heihachi Mishima and departs), with a fifth King of Iron Fist tournament mysteriously announced by the Mishima Zaibatsu (which was believed to be disbanded after both Kazuya and Heihachi were ambushed by Jack-4 robots, with Heihachi left to die in an explosion).

The game also keeps track of the playstyles of players who use the machine, which is used as fake opponents in the single-player Arcade Mode.
Tekken 5 arcade ps2#
One of the main additions of Tekken 5 is its unique arcade cabinet, adding optional controller ports for PS2 controllers and a dedicated card reader (named the IC Card System) that allows players to track their overall ranking while allowing them to customize the appearance of their linked character (by using "gold" acquired from completing and winning matches). The fifth main installment in the Tekken series, Tekken 5 re-incorporates the series' traditional endless stages while adding some new techniques and gameplay changes (including the "crush system", which affects the vulnerability of a character while they attack).
